Filling myself with Color.

Some beautiful colors to perk yourself up with, I plan to introduce more into my life.  My wardrobe tends to consist of a lot of neutrals, blacks and grays, but I hope to add some more joy with at least some bursts of color!

Mekele & RAD.

I received an email from Rad Hourani which led me to watch his new fall runway 2011 show. I was mesmerized by the music and then I heard a familiar voice. Beautiful artist Mekele, whom I have been in love with for years and was corresponding with over myspace back in the day, had created a song just for RAD! I am so thrilled! Not only is the line beautifully unique, but Mekele's song Nocturn is entrancing to go along with the experience.

I am the Land.

Photographer Andrea D'Aquino has released a shoot for Pool Magazine that fits nicely into my book of inspiration for my upcoming shoot in late February.

I will be working with model Angie and my favorite stylist Tasha.

Can't wait to share the results with all of you, but for now enjoy these lovely pieces and behind the scenes video.

The Body Journey.

In regards to my last post, I would like to share some amazing stories about more shifts occurring in the fashion industry.

The Lake and Stars.

Lingerie geniuses The Lake and Stars have released a Spring 2011 campaign that blew my mind.  I am finally starting to see the shift in the fashion industry that I have so longed for.  I truly feel that where I am going with my work is completely in alignment with the direction I am now seeing.  Blending a sense of playfulness with spirituality, The Lake and Stars have created a campaign that is both aesthetically appealing as well as intellectually intriguing.   I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

"For Spring 2011, designers Nikki Dekker and Maayan Zilberman took last season’s idea of “fetish” and explored it as a means of “ritual”. Inspired by the ‘80s New Age approach to spirituality and well-being, and today’s resurgence of communal living and cult practices, the team created their own “family” environment to stage various rituals. Playing with the notion that lingerie can be a key player in the ritual of romance, the new slideshow album, photographed by Tom Hines, offers tongue-in cheek advice on how to stay grounded and how not to take it all too seriously."

Inspired.

Tonight I spent the evening with some amazing "light" minded people.  I left feeling inspired and full of life.  While I was there I had an amazing discussion with jewelry designer and artist Dyanna Beckwith.  Her tribal and very powerful jewelry has my mind coming up with all sorts of new ideas for photoshoots in the future.  We both commented on husband and wife photography duo Robert and Shana Parkeharrison whom create these amazing dream landscapes in their work.  Both being great inspirations of ours, we will be looking to them for ideas to push us in our practice.  Here are a few images to get you all excited as well.

A moment.

Better than a thousand hollow words
Is one word that brings peace.
Better than a thousand hollow verses
Is one verse that brings peace.
-Buddha

Much of my joy stems from taking time to go inward and meditate.  It allows me to see life in a completely new and exciting way each time.  Life is growth and expansion, and inspiration is derived from this.  Take time to see the beauty around you and your love and passions will blossom.
